Noun
English: front, area in front of
German: Vorne, Bereich vor etwas
Source: KGT
Category: location and movement
KLCP Level: 3
Notes

KGT 24: The non-Sakrej-dialect usage of locational nouns like 'et and bIng puts them after pronouns. SoH 'et "your area-in-front" is a standard possessive construction. A pronoun may be used instead of a noun: jIH 'em (behind me--literally, "I area behind"), chaH bIng (below them--literally, "them area below').

Marc Okrand - Downtown tour August 1 2016: For the “public” part, I’d go with tlhop "area in front".  Something in front of something is visible, not hidden, not secluded, not secretive.  Something behind is visible only to those also behind (those who got into the area behind, as opposed to those who are left out in front).   So in front is public, behind is private.
